THE STORY OF ECLIPSE

Eclipse began with a simple moment behind the salon chair.

While searching for a name for her business, Donna thought about the sounds of hairdressing, and the game she played with young clients as she cut their fringe, laughing as the scissors “galloped” across their hair: clip, clip, clip, clip.

She placed a kiss-curl shape at each end of the word CLIP, and when she looked at it again, she saw Eclipse.

At the time, her family was going through some difficult seasons. An eclipse reminded her that darkness is never permanent: the light always returns, and every ending creates the chance for a new beginning.

The three planets in the logo represent Donna and her two sons, each on their own path,

yet together forming something greater.

Eclipse Hair Specialists grew into Eclipse Hair & Beauty Specialists, and today Eclipse Hair International is a centre for education, mentoring, leadership and business development, helping people move from uncertainty to confidence.

Learn the rules, then break them

Avant-garde is one of Donna’s greatest passions. It gives a professional the chance to “learn the rules like a professional, then break them like an artist,” a saying attributed to Picasso.

That passion led to an invitation to compete on Extreme Hair Wars, a UK reality TV show built around avant-garde hair and presented by London Hughes. Donna’s entry, “Hairy Food,” featured a wine nymph whose hair represented grapes.
